JUST CRAZY
As you walked home you began to whistle, Then you snagged your ankle on a thistle, The artist stood painting at his easel, Is that really feasible?
The lambs frolic in the meadow, As birds flit in and out of the hedgerow, Where the sun beats down on the ground, A fox is chased by a hound.
The months turn into seasons, And a spy is charged with treason, Has that tractor run out of diesel? Was that a stoat or was it a weasel?
While a man fishes by the lake, His wife's wearing pearls are they fake? I can't seem to reason at all, Are we in the spring or the fall?
The mansion it appears has been sold, And the farmer's gone looking for gold, The pounds fallen against the mark, On the hotel menu is shark.
The weather now turns cold, As his daughter flees the fold, The weakness of the sun, A flash from the photographers gun.
I've lost my Wellington boot, A bank giving away loot, His wife said he was lazy, But he said no! Just crazy.

SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE
As the man stood on the rock, The secretary looked at the clock, The sales e s girl needed some help, And the dog began to yelp.
Was it totally with out reasoning?
That the cook added some seasoning,
The pilot flew the plane,
Then it began to rain.
Was that really a four-leaf clover?
Another ferry sailed from Dover,
As the woman began to stitch,
The wedding went without a hitch.
The cows were eating the grass,
Did the children behave in class?
The visitors arrived by car,
The front door was left ajar.
The farmers were bailing hay,
As the hens began to lay,
The children flew their kite,
And the moon shone bright at night.
Was it such a good idea?
That party they had at New Year,
How could they have been so late?
The sandwiches were served on a plate.
Did they remember to close the gate?
The children were learning to skate,
Oh how very strange,
Some things never change.

A Lasting Romance
And still as time flies past Just one look could save the day A look, maybe just a glance A mere possibility, of a second chance.
A split second in which to believe
A feeling even though not wise
Oh the pain as if speared by a lance
The eyes stare as if in a trance.
If all it takes is a little good will
Even though tomorrow seems a long way off
Maybe a night in Paris, a day in France
Or the memory of that first dance.
Memories come flooding back
With just the slightest touch
The wonderful feelings they enhance
Another stab, at a lasting romance.

Why Do I Love You
Because you're always there for me, Because you are the first one I see, Because you are a breath of fresh air, Because the way you brush your hair, Because you're always so complete, Because your clothes are always neat, Because you never try to be false, Because the way you look, of course, Because your smile is always there, Because your secrets with me you share, Because you're someone I can trust, Because for me you are a must, Because for me your love is true,
Because most of all, you're you.

Internet Love
There's a slight chill in the air now, Standing here, looking out to sea, It was so different, when we made our vows, And you said that you loved me.
Years of struggle, pulling together, Taking walks, hand in hand, I always thought it would be forever, When you accepted my gold band.
How things have changed for us,
We just seemed to drift apart,
You said you didn't want a fuss,
But someone else had stolen your heart.
You were sorry that our love was over,
And even though so far you hadn't met,
You were starting a new life in Hanover,
He was your love from the Internet.

GUESS I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
You broke my heart, When you walked away, It was your decision, I wanted you to stay.
And now you've come back, You want to try again, But my feelings have changed,
They could never be the same.
I felt the tears,
Rolling down my cheeks,
The pain inside me,
For all those weeks.
We both took our vows,
We made a promise,
But in the end,
You didn't want to compromise.
So now it's goodbye,
As I walk out the door,
But there's a pain in my heart,
I guess I'll love you for evermore.

STRAINED LOVE
With many miles between us, Our keyboards do the talking. It would be nice to meet you, And maybe take you walking. Such things are unlikely to happen, For the Internet keeps us in touch,
It may be hard to understand,
But we love each other very much.
Relying on unending loyalty,
Never straying from the truth,
I wonder if we'd have felt the same,
Had we made contact in our youth?
Perhaps we'd have become lovers,
Or maybe even married given time,
I can't see that happening now though,
You're eighty, and I'm seventy-nine.

GOD BLESS AND GOODNIGHT
A few years have now passed, Since you left us alone, And I still can't believe, You'll never come home.
As I look at the news, And the papers, you're still there, I think that shows a testament, To the love, that you shared.
I can still see your face,
Such a vision of light,
And it still brings a tear,
When I think of that night.
You filled this world,
With so much grace,
No one could ever,
Take your place.
It's hard to explain,
The grief that was felt,
And how just one smile,
Could make a thousand hearts melt.
Now as I stand solemnly,
In silent remembrance,
Just one in millions,
How the pain shows its evidence.
The first anniversary,
Of your passing is here,
And the pain in my heart,
Is like that of a spear.
Like all of the others,
I had to come, it was right,
Till we meet in the future, Princess,
God bless and goodnight.
